BNI distinguished by the Minister of Budget and State Portfolio, on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at SOFITEL HOTEL IVOIRE.
On Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at the SOFITEL HOTEL IVOIRE, a delegation of BNI composed of the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Souleymane CISSE, accompanied by the CEO, Mr. Youssouf FADIGA, the Financial and Accounting Director, Mr. Roland ADJET, and several Administrators participated in the 2nd Edition of the Prize for Excellence in Governance and Performance of Public Companies, which rewards the best social leaders of public companies.
The objective of this ceremony organized by the General Directorate of the State Portfolio and chaired by the Minister of Budget and State Portfolio, Mr. Moussa SANOGO, is to perpetuate the culture of performance and good governance within public companies by highlighting the leaders of Ivorian public companies which, through the quality of their governance and the economic and financial performance of their companies, contribute to the development of the country and the well-being of its people.
For this edition, four prizes were awarded for efforts to ensure transparency in business management, to establish effective decision-making processes, and to implement performance evaluation systems in relation to the results of the 2019 financial year.
These are:
- The Prize for Economic and Financial Performance;
- The Prize for Efficiency of the Board;
- The Incentive Prize; and
- The Prize for Excellence in Governance (Super Prize).
Out of 50 companies eligible for these prizes, BNI distinguished itself, following a two-phase selection process, by winning:
- – The 3rd Prize for Efficiency of the Board, which rewards companies whose Board had the best operation and practices in governance with regard to the legal and regulatory provisions in force. The Prize was awarded to the Chairman of the Board.
As a reminder, during the 1st Edition of the awarding ceremony, the Board of BNI won the 1st Prize for Efficiency of the Board. - – Besides, the Chief Executive Officer received the Incentive Prize, which rewards companies recovering from operations at a deficit and making significant progress. This Incentive Prize is the innovation of this 2nd Edition, which aims to encourage social leaders to do more.
The Minister of Budget and State Portfolio extended warm and hearty congratulations to the winners and invited them to cultivate merit and excellence as a management imperative.
These distinctions BNI received for the second consecutive year are an incentive and a challenge to pursue the dynamic of continuous improvement of its results, in compliance with the regulatory mechanisms for monitoring the State portfolio.
The ceremony ended with a cocktail offered by the Minister of the Budget and State Portfolio of Côte d’Ivoire.
