AADFI Celebrates 50 Years of Impact at its 2025 Annual General Assembly in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire

Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, May 29, 2025 – The Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI) marked a historic milestone during its 2025 Annual General Assembly, coinciding with its 50th anniversary. The event was held from May 25 to 28, 2025, at the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire, Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on the theme “AADFI @ 50: Joining Forces for a More Sustainable and Greener Future for African DFIs”. It brought together leaders from African Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), partners, and key stakeholders to reflect on five decades of progress and chart a sustainable path for a greener future. The activities featured the Board of Directors meeting, the 50th Anniversary Workshop, the Ordinary General Assembly, the Consultative Dinner & Award, the AADFI Economist Governance Meeting, and the Working Group on Climate Change Special Interest discourse on green banking. The high point of the Ordinary General Assembly was the election of Dr. Patricia Ojangole, Managing Director of the Uganda Development Bank (UDB) Ltd., as the new Chairperson of AADFI, Mr. Abdelouahab Boushaba, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Tamwil El Fellah, as the 1st Vice-Chairman, and Mr. Dumisani Msibi, Group Managing Director of the Eswatini Development Finance Corporation (FINCORP), as the 2nd Vice-Chairman.

The event was hosted by Banque Nationale d’Investissement (BNI), Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations de Côte d’Ivoire (CDC-CI), and Société de Garantie des Crédits aux PME (SGPME) – all esteemed Ivorian members of AADFI – whose support and hospitality helped make the event a resounding success.
