The Advance Level program of the Professional Certificate Programme (PCP) in Development Finance is a higher-level strategic training in development finance. The training is aimed to expose participants to strategic issues in leading and managing DFIs, and global trends in the development finance environment.
At the Advance level, participants are assumed to be professionals vast in the technical aspect of development finance or appointees to top management positions in DFIs. They require knowledge of the development finance management landscape and interpretation of technical presentations to enable them to take informed decisions in investment and institutional management. The focus is mainly on general technical issues and decision-making strategies in DFIs
At the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate good knowledge of strategic issues in leading development finance operations,
- Carry out an assessment of national development performance,
- Ability to mainstream sustainability agenda in development finance operation,
- Lead and set direction in implementing SDGs projects and national development priorities,
- Lead in project turnaround and business rescue
- Champion mobilization of innovative resource for impact development

The faculty members are experts with hands-on experience in development banking and finance operations..
a. The PCP in Development Finance will be administered by the AADFI Directorate. The faculty team is made of professionals with in-depth knowledge in development banking and finance operations.
b. AADFI training activities are governed by a set of rules to facilitate maximum learning and foster good relations among participants, instructors and Programme Directorate. Below are the relevant extracts of the rules for this workshop:
i. Nomination of a candidate is deemed to imply his/her readiness to comply with the advice of the instructors and the Programme Directorate.
ii. Participants are expected to attend all sessions, including group meetings, promptly and regularly.
