To support the professional development of development finance practitioners across the continent, the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI) has established a Learning Management System (LMS) that provides flexible access to high-quality online training and knowledge resources. Officially launched during AADFI’s 50e General Assembly in 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya, the platform reflects the Association’s commitment to strengthening institutional capacity and promoting excellence across African DFIs.
Through the AADFI LMS, professionals can upgrade their knowledge at their own pace, access specialized learning resources from anywhere in the world, and earn certificates upon successful completion of selected courses. Designed with the needs of busy practitioners in mind, the platform offers a practical, accessible learning experience that supports both individual career growth and institutional capacity development.

The platform currently offers certificate-bearing modules covering key development finance priorities, including Climate Finance, Climate-Related Financial Risks, Ecological Transition, and Gender Mainstreaming in DFIs. Some of these courses are provided through the support and collaboration with development partners.
Another thematic area covered is Fundamentals of Development Banking and Finance in Africa, which offers a comprehensive introduction to the field. The course is designed for both new entrants to the sector and experienced professionals seeking to refresh their understanding of development banking practices.
