Contexte

The Professional Certificate Program (PCP) in Development Finance-Foundation Level is an introduction to the early stage of development banking/development finance operation. It is aimed to expose participants to the concepts and operations in development finance.

The PCP program focuses on developing practical and hands-on skills in development finance operations. The teaching at the foundation level is fundamental, and the course approach is technical. Mainly introducing participants to the world of development finance.

Objectifs d’apprentissage

At the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of knowledge and concepts of development finance operations;
  • Develop an understanding of the issues involved in development finance and the global trends;
  • Build skills in development bank/development finance lending operations – micro – medium, and long-term lending operations, profile project/investment for financing;
  • Carry out risk analysis and mitigation in development financing activities concerning development projects and
  • Develop the ability to nurture and support projects and entrepreneurs.

The training module is structured as follows:

  1. Development Banking and Finance:  Principles & Practices
  2. Understanding the Current Development Agenda for Africa
  3. Introduction to Research Methods in Development Finance
  4. Lending Methodologies in Development Financing
  5. Introduction to Enterprise Risk Management 
  6. Introduction to Microfinance and Microcredit
  7. Project Identification, Implementation Management & Planning
  8. Introduction to Credit and Project Appraisal
  9. Product Development & Marketing
  10. Case studies and Group Practical Exercises
Methodology

This Foundation Level course of the PCP will consist of seven-day virtual learning sessions that involve an integrated learning approach. These sessions will include plenary sessions, case studies, group exercises and discussions, role plays, term papers, and participants’ presentations to facilitate learning, help understand development finance operations, and generate ideas and solutions to address the sector’s needs.

Programme Administration

The AADFI Directorate will administer the workshop. A set of rules governs AADFI’s training activities to facilitate maximum learning and foster good relations among participants, instructors, and the Workshop Directorate. Below is the relevant extract of the rules for this workshop:

  1. The nomination of a candidate is deemed to imply their readiness to comply with the advice of the instructors and the Workshop Directorate.
  2. Participants must promptly and regularly attend all online sessions, including group practical sessions.
Politique d’annulation

Les frais d’inscription au programme ne sont pas remboursables en cas de non-participation au programme. Toutefois, ils pourront être utilisés pour un programme futur dont les frais d’inscription sont équivalents et dont la tenue est prévue au cours de l’année suivante.

Par ailleurs, les frais d’inscription déjà versés ne seront pas remboursés ou ne serviront pas à financer un autre programme de l’AIAFD si l’institution dont relève un participant inscrit n’avise pas par écrit l’Association de son retrait soit 20 jours ouvrables avant la date de début du programme.

Nonetheless, the nominating institution reserves the right to replace a registered staff with another staff 20 working days before the start of the training.

L’AIAFD prend des mesures pour s’assurer que les programmes qu’elle annonce se tiennent. Mais, dans des circonstances indépendantes de sa volonté, l’Association se réserve le droit d’annuler ou de reporter les dates de ses programmes. En pareil cas, les participants seront informés en conséquence.

Programme Fees
  1. AADFI Member institutions: €655 (Six Hundred and Fifty-Five Euros) per participant.
    Early Bird: €605 per participant (Six Hundred and Five Euros): Register and pay by March 10, 2025 to qualify for the discount.

  2. Non-AADFI member institutions: €860 (Eight Hundred and Sixty Euros) per participant.

Selon le statut du participant, un visa et un certificat de vaccination international peuvent être requis pour entrer en Côte d’Ivoire. Si vous êtes ressortissants d’un pays exigeant un visa pour entrer en Côte d’Ivoire, les documents et procédures nécessaires au traitement de votre demande de visa d’entrée vous seront communiqués lors de l’envoi de votre Lettre d’acceptation.

Veuillez noter que l’AIAFD n’est pas en mesure de fournir directement de visas aux participants. Par conséquent, vous êtes invité(e) à faire parvenir votre formulaire d’inscription dans les meilleurs délais pour débuter tôt vos préparatifs de voyage.
