Abidjan, February 28, 2022<\/strong> <\/mark>\u2013\u00a0The Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI) has expanded its footprint in promoting development finance and sustainable development in Africa with the accession of three national development finance institutions (DFIs) into its membership: Banque Agricole du NIGER (BAGRI), Caisse des D\u00e9p\u00f4ts et Consignation de C\u00f4te d’Ivoire (CDC-CI), and Caisse des D\u00e9p\u00f4ts et Consignation du B\u00e9nin (CDC-B). The accession was sequel to the AADFI Board\u2019s approval at its 102nd<\/sup> Meeting held on February 28, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By joining the AADFI membership, BAGRI, CDC-CI, and CDC-B will draw on the proven experience of the Association and its national, regional, and international partners to strengthen their contribution in achieving their mandate, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Paris Agreement, including the recovery of their national economies from the covid-19 pandemic. The new members will also benefit from the activities of the Association and leverage its network for their institutional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AADFI is the umbrella organization for development finance institutions in Africa created in 1975 under the auspicious of the AfDB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Banque Agricole du Niger (BAGRI) was created following the bankruptcy of the national agricultural credit fund. And one of the missions that were assigned to it was the agricultural financing. Thus, in the accomplishment of this regalian mission, BAGRI has accompanied, during the year 2020, more than five thousand (5,000) producers (small producers) with more than twenty thousand (20,000) accounts inside the country for producers only.
